Staffan has a strong focus towards corporate law related issues in the areas of
finance, Life Sciences, intellectual property law, litigation, and Mergers and
Acquisitions. After a legal career as a Junior Judge in District Courts and Courts
of Appeal as well as an associate at several law firms, Staffan and Anders Pethrus
started the law firm Wilow & Pethrus in 1986, which changed name to Advokatfirman
af Petersens in 2001 when new partners joined the firm.
Staffan is a visiting lecturer in the area of Life Sciences at Universities
and he is regularly presenting industry seminars. He has also published many articles on Life Sciences in legal journals and has written the books “Kommentarer till patientskadelagen” (Commentary to the Patient Injuries Act, Norstedts 1999) and “Kredithandboken” (regarding the Managing of Credits, Norstedts 2008) and “Legal Aspects on Drug Delivery”. Staffan is also appointed Director of Svenska Kreditföreningen (The Swedish Credit Association) and he is the head of the Association’s Law Department.
Staffan became member of the Swedish Bar Association in 1985 and he has a previous
experience of the Life Sciences sector having worked as an in-house counsel
at the legal department of Pharmacia Corporation.
